Galway is a great little sea side town with tons of bars and live music. It’s a lively, youthful spot, with some of the best nightlife on the west coast of Ireland. It’s worth a night or two, but not much more. It’s small and there’s not a ton to see and do in the town. However, it is a great jumping off point to visit the beautiful Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey.
Ard Bia is one of Galway’s most enduring restaurants and is situated in an iconic dining venue with a great atmosphere close to the sea. The food is fantastic too.
Kylemore Abbey is a Victorian Castle that is currently owned and operated by a sect of Benedictine Nuns. You can spend an hour or two walking around the castle, touring its grounds and gardens as well as visiting the nearby church. Kylemore Abbey is easy to drive to and has a parking lot as well as an attached restaurant and cafe.
