Day 1
You’ll start the day at the Race Street Pier. Make sure to stop off and get a cup of Colombe or Wawa coffee and something small to eat for breakfast as you sit and enjoy the view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and The Delaware River. After taking a moment to enjoy the pier you’ll simply follow our detailed walking tour of Old City that can be found on our main Philadelphia travel guide. You’ll visit Elfreth’s Alley, The Betsy Ross House, Franklin’s Grave, The National Constitution Center, Independence Beer Garden, The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Old City Tavern and Positano Coast. If you have extra time continue to walk around and check out the smaller streets in Old City. For dinner have a reservation at Zahav, Bistro Romano, Xochitl, Buddakan, Fiore or Little Nonna’s.
Day 2
You’ll start the day with a stop at Reading Terminal where you’ll gorge on some incredible food. From here you’ll stop at City Hall where you can get tickets beforehand online to take the elevator to the top of the clock tower and get a great view of the city from above. After City Hall continue on through Love Park and onward to the Franklin Institute for a quick stop at the Imax Theatre. After the Franklin Institute, head on up the Ben Franklin Parkway, stop at the Rodin Museum and then continue on until you get to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Check out the museum for a an hour or two and then head behind the museum to check out the gardens and boat house row. After walking around the museum district, if you have time you can check out another museum like the Mutter Museum or the Eastern State Penitentiary. If not, head straight to Hop Sing Laundromat for drinks. This evening you’ll have dinner at Vernick or Vetri depending on how much money you want to spend.
Day 3
You’ll wake up and have brunch at Parc in Rittenhouse and spend the early afternoon walking around the square and the surrounding area. Afterwards, walk down South Street, do some shopping while making sure to grab a beer at Brauhaus Schmitz, a cocktail at Tattooed Mom and some great Italian food at Angelo’s. Check out surrounding attractions like The Italian Market, The Magic Gardens and/or Pat’s and Geno’s Steaks. Pick another one of the great restaurants we detailed in our top restaurants posts and then head to the upstairs of Twisted Tail for live music or the Spruce Harbor Park to walk around after your meal.
Day 4
Start your day with a trip out to John’s Roast Pork to grab the best cheesesteak or pork sandwich you’ll ever experience. After you recover from having your mind blown. Take an Uber back to the center of the city and try going up to the observation deck atop the Liberty One Skyscraper. Afterwards, head over to the Comcast Center and check out Steven Spielberg’s The Power of I and grab a drink at Jean-George’s sky high bar. After this, I would spend the rest of your time walking around your favorite parts of town just hopping from bar to bar until dinner.
