Soto South Lamar – Want the highest quality sushi in Austin but without Uchi’s prices.  Head right across the street on South Lamar and check out this hidden gem.  It’s not as high end as Uchi, but the quality and inventiveness of the dishes is fantastic and the service is much more personal as they will take excellent care of you and let you try many different things.  Sitting at their bar and having sushi and saki is a great way to kill an evening.

Casino El Camino – Best burgers in town and honestly the best Bloody Mary menu I’ve ever seen.  Be warned, however, they rank their Bloody Mary’s on a spiciness scale of 1-10.  Anything above a 6 will cause the average human being some significant pain.  From 7-10 they use concentrates and oils from things like ghost peppers and reaper peppers.  I love spicy food and 6 is probably my sweet spot, 7 is doable but it takes some time and sweat to finish, 8-10 is just painful. If you get a burger, which I highly suggest, get it on a cheddar jalapeno bun.
