Rome’s Coolest Experiences
Roma Eat Tours
Selene is one of the most engaging and friendly tour guides around. You’ll feel like you’re meeting up with an old friend to grab some drinks and food. She has a degree in archeology so even when you do a simple food tasting tour, you’ll be sure to get plenty of interesting tidbits on your walks between restaurants and cafés. The global pandemic has put a dent in her tour business as you might expect, but she is using this time creatively. Her and her team are currently restoring a VW Bus to use for some of their more ambitious tours they have planned for once restrictions are lifted. One in particular that you might want to look into if you have Italian ancestors is a tour where you send her your family names and information you know about your roots and she researches your family origins and then takes you on a surprise tour through the little towns where your relatives emigrated from. Definitely contact them for setting up a specialized tour…particularly do not hesitate to book their walking food tour where you’ll experience coffee, wine, cheese, pasta and a handful of other treats, getting something to take home with you from every stop. It’s a fantastic experience and a great value.
Cooking Class with Alessandro
Alessandro is a single dad, and chef in the city of Rome, living in a small walk-up apartment in the shadow of the Pantheon. Today he makes his living by conducting small group (4-5 people) pasta making classes in his apartment. If you prefer to be alone as a couple without other groups, don’t hesitate to contact him directly and see if he can work out a private lesson with you. He’s incredibly fun and funny and engaging. You’ll have a blast hanging out with him and making delicious pasta.

As discussed on our main page for Rome, this tour offered by Show Me Italy is a great way to spend an afternoon.
